Abstract

Hypopigmentation, whose most common forms include albinism and leucism, results in atypical coloration and occurs throughout the animal kingdom. During camera trapping in Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park, Sumatra, we documented the first record of hypopigmentation in oriental small-clawed otters (Aonyx cinereus). Hypopigmentation is rarely documented in the literature, and this appears to be the second record for any otter species.
